As we continue with our year-long celebration, marking twenty-five years of operations in Ghana, it was important that this year’s breast cancer event celebrates the resilience of breast cancer warriors and their stories of strength, perseverance, and hope.
The heavy rains on the morning of Friday,13th October 2023, could not stop the people of Tema from showing up at the Free Breast Cancer Screening event organised by EGL in collaboration with Sinel Specialty Hospital and Embrace Society at the Tema Community One STC Terminal. More than one hundred attendees were screened and offered the requisite medical advice from Sinel Hospital’s medical team and the Embrace Society.
In a brief address, our Managing Director, Brent Nartey, called for society to support breast cancer patients and survivors. He stated, “Breast cancer is a battle that no one should have to fight alone, and at Engen Ghana, we will continue to renew our yearly commitment to breast cancer awareness, early detection and partner with organizations that support warriors like Madam Joyce Baah who is here with us today to share her story”.
The event was given another boost of support with the presence of Honourable Yves Hanson-Nortey, MP for Tema Central, who entreated attendees to be diligent about their breast health as early detection saves lives. The heart of the event was filled with stories from Joyce Larbi, a breast cancer survivor who narrated her battle with cancer with courage and grace.
At Engen Ghana Limited, our commitment to our communities extends beyond our products and services. We are passionate about the well-being of our communities, and we recognize that our responsibilities go beyond fuelling vehicles only, and we will continue to fuel hope within our communities.
