On Wednesday, 9th December 2024, Engen Ghana hosted Mr. Tony Dogbe, the Executive Director, and Ms. Margaret Brew-Ward, the Senior Advocacy and Policy Engagement Manager of Sabre Education, a Ghana-based NGO supported by the mc2h foundation.

Sabre Education is dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education in Ghana. They achieve this through a multi-pronged approach:

  • Influencing Policy and Practice: Advocating for policies that support quality early childhood education.
  • Teacher Training: Equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills to implement effective play-based learning methodologies.
  • Transforming Learning Environments: Creating stimulating and engaging learning spaces for young children.

The meeting focused on the significant progress Sabre Education has made in enhancing early childhood literacy in Ghana.

Key topics of discussion included:

  • Measuring Success: How Sabre Education effectively measures the impact of their interventions on children’s learning outcomes.
  • Teacher Motivation: Exploring available incentives to motivate teachers and school officials to champion play-based learning approaches.

Engen Ghana expressed its strong interest in partnering with Sabre Education to further support their impactful work. The company intends to explore providing incentive packages to encourage wider adoption of play-based learning methodologies among educators.

This collaboration aligns with Engen Ghana’s commitment to supporting education and community development in Ghana. By investing in early childhood education, we can empower the next generation and build a brighter future for all.
